Private-Pay Therapy & Coaching, Explained

Live Empowered is a private-pay practice. We do not accept or bill insurance. Here is what that means for you and why many clients prefer it.

Therapy · Arizona

Counseling sessions

Therapy is paid directly at each session. Current session rates for individual therapy, EMDR and EMDR intensives are shared during your free 15-minute discovery call, before you book anything.

Superbills are available for out-of-network reimbursement, and HSA payments are accepted.

Coaching · Nationwide

Coaching engagements

Starts at $250 / hour

Coaching is a premium, high-touch engagement with Alexandra. Your engagement is tailored to your goals and pace, and the details are set together on your strategy call.

Coaching is not a medical service and is not billed to insurance. Many professionals use a company development budget.

Why private pay

The benefits of paying privately for therapy

  • Privacy. Your mental health information is not shared with an insurance company.
  • No diagnosis required for coverage. You can come to therapy for growth, not only for a diagnosable condition.
  • Your care, your choice. No outside limits on session count, session length or treatment approach.
  • Specialized clinicians. Choose a therapist for their training and fit, not their network.
  • Flexible formats. Longer sessions and EMDR intensives when they serve your goals.

Your rights

Good Faith Estimate notice

You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
