Catherine Daem, LMSW
Licensed Therapist
Helping you heal, grow, and reconnect.
“You’re not ‘too sensitive.’ You’re carrying experiences your body hasn’t had the chance to fully resolve.”
Catherine creates a supportive, nonjudgmental space where adults can slow down, feel safe and do meaningful work. She specializes in trauma, adult ADHD and neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, grief and life transitions, and helps clients understand why relationships feel hard or why they keep choosing the wrong kind of partner. Using a holistic psychology approach, she helps clients move beyond symptom management to process what’s underneath. With a master’s degree in clinical social work from Arizona State University, she brings experience from community agency, nonprofit and private practice settings. She is an EMDRIA-trained EMDR provider who also draws on IFS, attachment-based and mindfulness-based approaches. She is trained in mental health nutrition and, as a Certified Master Gardener, keeps a therapy garden at her office where she teaches emotional regulation and grounding through learning to grow plants and food.
Private pay
Why we don't work with insurance
Insurance-based care often requires a diagnosis, limits the number of sessions and decides what kind of treatment you can receive. Private pay puts those decisions back with you and your therapist.
- No diagnosis required just to qualify for coverage
- More privacy for your mental health records
- No outside limits on the length or type of care
- Longer sessions and EMDR intensives when they serve you
Therapy for personal growth
You don't have to be in crisis to start therapy
Some of our clients come in because something hurts. Others come because they know they are capable of more and want to understand what has been holding them back. Both are good reasons to start.
Therapy for personal growth helps you understand your patterns, heal old wounds, build self-worth and change the way you relate to yourself and the people you love.
Approaches used in our practice
Your therapist tailors treatment to you. Approaches used at Live Empowered include EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-focused therapy, polyvagal-informed and mindfulness-based work, and family systems therapy.
