What is emotional performance?

Your performance has a ceiling. It's emotional.

Emotional performance is your ability to feel what you feel, stay clear-headed and still act at your best. It is what separates people who perform in practice from people who perform when it counts.

Most high achievers are trained in skills and strategy. Very few are trained in emotion regulation. So pressure builds, sleep suffers, reactions get sharper, and success starts to feel heavier instead of better.

Emotional performance coaching with Alexandra teaches you how your nervous system responds to stress and how to work with it. You will build practical tools you can use in a meeting, before a race, in an argument with your partner or at 2 a.m. when your mind will not stop.

Emotional intelligence · Nervous system · Burnout

Emotional intelligence coaching that works under pressure

Emotional intelligence coaching is often taught as theory. Alexandra teaches it as a skill you can use in the moment. Her emotional regulation coaching combines emotional intelligence, nervous system regulation and practical breathwork, grounded in her training as a licensed professional counselor.

Nervous system regulation coaching

Your nervous system decides how you respond before your thinking brain catches up. Learning to regulate it helps you stay calm under pressure, recover faster and stop living in fight-or-flight.

Burnout coaching for high achievers

If you're dealing with burnout from work, coaching helps you understand what's driving it, protect your energy and rebuild a pace you can sustain without giving up your ambitions.

Help with overthinking and stress

Overthinking, racing thoughts and constant tension are common in high performers. Coaching gives you tools to quiet your mind and get out of your head and into action.

Signs you're ready

Emotion regulation coaching may help if you…

  • Feel calm and capable most days, then react in ways you regret under pressure
  • Carry stress in your body: tight chest, poor sleep, constant tension
  • Are close to burnout but cannot see how to slow down
  • Freeze, overthink or lose focus in high-stakes moments
  • Bring work stress home to your partner and children
  • Feel success should feel better than it does
  • Want to grow your business or career but already feel at capacity
  • Compete or perform and want a stronger mental and emotional game

What you'll build

The skills behind steady, high-level performance

Emotion regulation

Notice emotion early, name it and shift it before it takes over your decisions or your tone.

Stress tolerance

Stay in the room, stay present and think clearly when stakes and pressure rise.

Nervous system capacity

Widen your window of tolerance so you can handle more without tipping into overwhelm or shutdown.

Recovery

Come down from high-pressure days faster so you can sleep, rest and be present at home.

Confidence under pressure

Trust yourself in the moments that matter: presentations, negotiations, competition and big decisions.

Capacity for success

Prepare yourself to hold a bigger role, more visibility and more income without it costing your well-being.

Breathwork for emotional regulation

Your breath is the fastest way to change your state

You can't always control what happens in a meeting, a negotiation or a competition. You can control how you breathe through it.

Alexandra is a certified yoga instructor, credentialed to teach breathwork. She weaves practical breathwork into emotional performance coaching so you have tools you can use anywhere: before a presentation, in a hard conversation, at the start line or at 2 a.m. when your mind won't settle.

  • Breathing techniques to calm the nervous system in under a minute
  • Breathwork for focus and energy before high-stakes moments
  • Recovery practices to downshift after demanding days
  • Simple daily routines that build long-term stress resilience

Sports psychology · Athletes & performers

Sports psychology-informed coaching for athletes

Alexandra applies principles from sports psychology and her clinical background to mental performance: focus, confidence, composure, motivation and recovering from setbacks. Coaching builds the mental game the same way training builds the physical one.

Athletes are trained to push through. But fear, frustration, pressure and past setbacks live in the body and show up in competition. Alexandra works with athletes and performers on focus, composure, confidence and recovering from setbacks, so the training they have put in can show up on competition day.

When a past injury, fall, accident or traumatic event is holding an athlete back, coaching may not be enough. For Arizona residents, Alexandra, an advanced EMDRIA-trained EMDR provider, also offers EMDR therapy and EMDR intensives. She recently helped an athlete recover from a traumatic event in three EMDR sessions.

Corporate professionals

Many emotional performance clients are corporate professionals who look composed at work and feel depleted everywhere else. Coaching helps you take better care of yourself without stepping back from your ambitions.
